In order to Connect Canon Printer to WiFi, you must follow one of the below-given methods for a hassle-free Setup.   

WPS Push-button Method

  1. First and foremost, connect your Canon Wireless Printer to a stable Power Source. Then, switch it On. Thereafter, turn on the Printer by pressing its “Power” or “ON” button. In order to confirm the same, check its Power Lamp. It must be lit and stable.
  2. Along with that, ensure that your Router is turned on and functioning properly.
  3. Now, look at your Printer’s Display Panel for the Wireless button. In other words, locate a push-button displaying a “Wireless” icon. 
  4. After that, Press and Hold the Wireless button until the Lamp beside it blinks. Thereafter, release the button.
  5. Subsequently, the colour of its Indicator Light will turn to blue. 
  6. Next, you should go to your Router. Then, locate its WPS Push-button. After that, Press and Hold the button. Another key point to remember is that you must perform this step within two minutes of the last step.
  7. As a result, the Indicator Light of your Canon Printer will start blinking continuously. It indicates that your Printer is locating available Networks within its range. 
  8. Subsequently, you will notice that the Printer’s Power Lamp has also started blinking together with the Indicator Lamp. In other words, your Canon Printer is trying to establish a connection with the Network. Now, wait for both the Lamps to stop blinking. Although, they must be lit and stable.
  9. Consequently, your Canon Printer is connected to a WiFi Network.

Wireless Connection Setup Method

  1. First and foremost, connect your Canon Wireless Printer to a stable Power Source. Thereafter, turn on the Printer by pressing its “Power” or “ON” button. 
  2. Along with that, ensure that your Router is turned on and functioning properly.
  3. Now, look at the Display Panel of your Printer for the “Setup” button. In other words, locate a push-button displaying a “Setup” icon on its Home Screen. 
  4. Next, you should Press this “Setup” button to access the “Setup Menu”. 
  5. Thereafter, select “Device Settings” and press the “OK” button.
  6. After that, select “LAN Settings” and press “OK”.
  7. Subsequently, select “Wireless LAN” as your Connection Mode. Then, press “OK”.
  8. On the following screen, choose “Wireless LAN Setup”. Then, press the “OK” button.
  9. Now, select the “Wireless Connection Setup Method” option. Then, click “OK”.
  10. As a result, your Canon Printer establishes a connection with the WiFi Network. However, you will have to wait for the same as this process will take some time. Besides that, it will temporarily disable your Internet Connection. 

Manual Connect Method

  1. First and foremost, connect your Canon Wireless Printer to a stable Power Source. Thereafter, turn on the Printer by pressing its “Power” or “ON” button. 
  2. Along with that, ensure that your Router is turned on and functioning properly.
  3. Now, access the Home Screen on your Printer’s Control Panel. Then, tap on the Wi-Fi icon located at the lower left-hand corner of the screen.
  4. Next, you will get the Basic Network Information window. Here, you should tap on “LAN Settings”.
  5. Thereafter, select “Wireless LAN”.
  6. Then, tap on “Wireless LAN Setup”.
  7. After that, tap on the “Manual Connect” option. 
  8. As a result, your Canon Printer will search for the available Wi-Fi Connection. 
  9. Then, it will display a list of available Networks. Hence, choose your Wi-Fi Network carefully. 
  10. Subsequently, type in your WiFi Network’s Security Password. Then, press “OK”.
  11. Consequently, it will connect your Canon Printer with your WiFi Network. Hence, wait for the process to complete properly. 
  12. Thereafter, tap “OK” once the WiFi Setup is complete.

Wifi Direct Method

  1. First and foremost, connect your Canon Wireless Printer to a stable Power Source. Thereafter, turn on the Printer by pressing its “Power” or “ON” button. 
  2. Along with that, ensure that your Router is turned on and functioning properly.
  3. Now, look for the “Wifi Direct” button on your Canon Printer. You will find it located at the top of the printer. Then, Press and Hold the button. After that, release this button once its Alarm Lamp flashes. 
  4. As a result, you will notice that the “Wireless” icon and “Horizontal Bars” on the Printer’s Display Screen starts flashing. 
  5. Thereafter, approach your Router. Then, Press and Hold its WPS button within 2 minutes of the last step.
  6. Consequently, you will notice that both the “Wireless” icon and “Horizontal Bars” on Canon Printer’s Control Panel continues to flash. This indicates that your Printer is trying to search available WiFi Networks.  
  7. After that,  its “Power” and “Wi-Fi Lamp” will start flashing which indicates it is connecting to the WiFi Network. 
  8. Subsequently, both the “Power” and “Wi-Fi Lamp” stops flashing. However, they remain lit. This means, your Canon Printer is successfully connected to the WiFi Network. 

Confirm WiFi Connection

Once you connect your Canon Printer to the WiFi Network, it is important to ensure that you have the right Network. For this, you must run a Test Print. 

  1. First and foremost, ensure that both your Canon Printer and Router are turned on and working properly. 
  2. Now, prepare your Printer’s Paper Tray and properly load it with A4 size plain white sheets.
  3. Next, you should go to the Control Panel of your Canon Printer. Here, you should look for the Resume button. Then, Press and Hold the same. 
  4. Consequently, your Printer’s Indicator Lamp beside the Resume button starts blinking. As such, wait for the lamp to blink for fifteen times. In other words, count the signals accurately.
  5. Thereafter, release the “Resume” button.
  6. As a result, your Canon Printer will perform a Test Print. This Print Sheet will provide you with the Network Information.
  7. Hence, carefully check the Network Information and ensure the details are correct. Here, the SSID must provide the correct name of your Network.
