Establishing Connection Between The Printer And The Network For Canon Laser Setup

  1. First of all, make sure that your Canon Laser printer is securely plugged into a stable “Power Source” and turned “ON”. For this, you have to check its “Power Lamp”. It must be properly lit and stable.
  2. Thereafter, choose the Networks settings from the list by pressing the down arrow key located on the front of the printer. After that, tap on the “Ok” button. 
  3. In the subsequent screen, select Wireless LAN Settings from the given list of options. 
  4. After that, press the Ok button from the Operational Panel of your printer. 
  5. Now, in the Wireless LAN Settings screen, select SSID settings and then select Access Points and press Ok. 
  6. Consequently, it will start searching the networks and a list of available options will appear on your screen. 
  7. After this, you have to choose your desired network from the list and then it will prompt you to enter your Wi-Fi password. Hence, type your password by using the keys from the operational panel of the printer and press “OK”. 
  8. Subsequently, it will ask you “Do you want to connect using new settings?”. Select the “Yes” button and then press the “Ok” button. 
  9. As a result, it will start connecting your printer to the wireless network. Once the process ends, the Connected screen will appear on your printer. 
  10. Now, your printer is successfully connected to your wireless network.  

Downloading The Printer Driver Software For Canon Laser Setup

  • In the very first place, open a web browser that you commonly used on your computing device. For example, you have Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.
  • Once your browser’s window open, type “” in the Address bar of your browser. 
  •  After that, press the enter key from your keyboard. 
  • By doing so, this will open the home page of Canon.
  • In the following window, look at the top right corner for the search box. Here, you have to enter the name of your Canon Laser printer. After that, click on the search icon.
  • Consequently, it will take you to the Product Selection window. Here, you have to select your Laser printer through your model number. 
  • After selecting your printer from the list of options available, you are taken to a new window. Scroll a little in this window and you will see the “Drivers & Downloads” tab. Hence, click on this tab to proceed further with the Canon Laser Setup process. 
  • By doing so, you will get a new segment, open on the same screen. Here, you can select your Operating System for getting the desired download link. For this, click the inverted triangle and select your desired OS from the drop-down menu list.
  • Along with this, it provides you with the option to set your preferred language. For this, click on the Language and select the language of your choice. 
  • After that, select the “Drivers” tab. Under the recommended drivers section, you have to click on the “Select” tab and then click on the “Download” button. 
  • As a result, this will start downloading the Canon Printer Driver on your preferred device. As the process may take a few minutes you need to wait until the downloading process is completed successfully. 

Installation The Printer Driver Software For Canon Laser Setup

  • Before you begin with installation, you have to connect your system with the same wireless network with which your printer is connected. 
  • Now, open the Downloads folder on your system to get the downloaded setup file.
  • Double-click the downloaded setup file of the printer driver. 
  • After that, you will get is the User Account Control window seeking your permission for the installation. Click on the “Yes” tab to permit. 
  • Consequently, it will open the Canon Printer Installation Wizard.  
  • The Canon Printer Setup window will provide you with the option to set your preferred language. For this, click on the Language and select the language of your choice. 
  • Then, click on the “Next” button located at the bottom of the page. 
  • The following window will prompt you to confirm your “Connection Method”. Hence, select between the “Wireless LAN Connection” and the “USB Connection” method.
  • Make sure that your printer is turned on and the printer’s Power Lamp is properly lit and stable. 
  • Thereafter, click “Ok”
  • Consequently, it will search for your Canon printer on the network. Once the printer is detected,  it will proceed with the installation process. As such, you should follow on-screen instructions to complete the process. 
  • In case, if you have already connected your printer to your network, select it from the list within the “Printers on the network list” window. After that, click on the “Next” to start the software installation. 
  • Subsequently, enter the serial number of your printer and click on the “Next” button.
  • After that, the installation process of your Canon printer begins. The following window will keep you updated about the installation status with a “Progress Bar”. 
  • Thereafter, you will get the “License Agreement” window. Hence, read the details carefully. Then, click on “Yes” to consent for the same.
  • After this, it will take you to the Firewall Settings window. Hence, ensure that “Deactivate the Block” is selected. Thereafter, click “Next”.
  • In the “Allow All Install Wizard Processes” window, click on the “Next” tab.
  • As a result, the software will start installing in your device. Wait for the process to complete. 
  • After that, the “Print Test” window will appear. Run the test by clicking the “Execute” button and follow the on-screen instructions. For the test run, make sure your printer is loaded with papers.
  • Now, the “Setup Complete” window will appear. Here, you have to click on the Next tab. 
  • In case, if you want to register your product, click on the Next tab. 
  •   Subsequently, it will take you to the Extended Survey Program. Here, you will get two options. You may either Agree or Disagree with it. As such, select appropriately.
  • In the end, click on the “Exit” tab in order to complete the installation process
